Pearl Abyss revealed quite a bit of news about Black Desert Online and Mobile at the 2025 Calpheon Ball, including a new playable Seraph class, the new PvP rework, a Crimson Desert collab, and several other overhauls to different areas of the game, like progression and monster zones.

To kick things off, the new Seraph class comes on all platforms between now and early January. The Seraph uses a large greatsword and grabbing/guarding abilities to take on enemies in a dual-nature combat system. They’re designed around both light and shadow.

Players can check out a few of the Seraph videos below. First is the official Class trailer, which shows off a bit of the character traits and themes:

Next is the combat trailer, where players can see how the class plays and some of its devastating abilities:

The Seraph class will launch on Black Desert Online on December 18 for PC players and January 8, 2026, for console players. Mobile players will get the new Seraph class on December 16.

Black Desert Online is also reforming monster zones. New, top-tier farming zones are being added for end-game players. Several regions will be reworked into these, with new mechanics and exclusive loot, such as Corrupt Oil of Immortality and color-shift weapon effects.

Party-based farming zones are also getting bigger, due in part to the new top-tier three-player farming zone coming to the Edania region and the remastered version of the Gyfin Rhasia Temple and Mirumok Ruins.

Newer players will be able to enjoy better milestone rewards, a revamped enhancement system, and expanded ways to get Cron Stons during weekly boss encounters.

Additionally, Alchemy Stones above Resplendent grade are now able to be fused with Vell’s Heart. The Alter of Blood has also been reworked into a three-player cooperative defense challenge with bigger waves, new mechanics, and stack-based rewards.

The PvP systems in Black Desert Online are being significantly reworked. This will introduce better rewards, like higher-value combat items, along with retuning the matchmaking, MMR evaluation, battlefields, and siege weapon placements.

The following modes will be part of the rework:

The Olvia Academy will work in cyclical systems, giving players training in combat and various life skills. This will also be a good source of Cron Stones, enhancement tools, high-grade weapons, and progression materials to help new players continue growing and learning the game.

In general, life-skill players will get several major updates. These include Seals revisions and enhancements to horse taming, farming, and trading with features like uniformed training XP gain, higher stable capacities, more inland fishing yields, new treasure items, more trade routes, and more.

The Winter Season is also coming with an expanded Snowboard Mode, which now has Score, Jump, and Speed modes. A new outfit line is also part of it, focusing on K-pop star looks.

Pearl Abyss also unveiled a collaboration between Black Desert and Crimson Desert. Players who pre-order Crimson Desert can get exclusive rewards in Black Desert Online, such as the Ashen Crow Horse Gear mount appearance, a fourth-generation Golden Star pet, a Fladen Star Statue, and a special manor decoration.

A trailer showing off these items can be found below:

Several things were also announced for Black Desert Mobile. Besides the new Seraph class, it’s also getting a new region, O’dyllita. This open-world area has its own version of the Rift, and players can get a new Kharazad accessory.

Additionally, the Azunak Arena is getting revamped to feature 12 2-player teams with a flat battlefield. There will be new and improved daily, weekly, and monthly rewards. The changes are planned to go live on January 6.

The Great Desert difficulty levels will become unified, giving players the ability to enter any zone regardless of their combat power. A new Chaos-grade Rune system is also being introduced. All of this is expected to launch on January 27.

Black Desert Mobile is also getting a “remaster” as part of the Korea server’s 8th anniversary. This will improve the following:

Other things like the UI, effect refinement, class restructuring, and other content improvements are on the way, too.

Black Desert Mobile is also getting the Crimson Desert collaboration, though the rewards look a little different. These will include an Arduanatt-exclusive Ashen Crow mount gear, a tier-seven Golden Star pet, a Golden Star Statue for camp, and 4,000 Black Pearls.
