Today, the developer of Battleship Command published a new and extensive video showing off a full mission.
The scenario titled “The Wolf” tasks the player with intercepting and sinking a supply ship before a combat unit sailing from Gibraltar can catch up, before making a beeline for Madeira.
We get to see how the player can use the recon seaplane to find the convoy, and learn that the merchantman is actually escorted by a Kent-class cruiser.
Further gameplay shows the gun battle with the cruiser, followed by the merciless sinking of the target, followed by the recovery of the recon aircraft and the withdrawal to Madeira before being caught by the enemy battle force led by a battleship.
The gunnery gameplay feels very deep and interesting, and lovers of naval history will likely have to keep an eye on this one, exactly like we are.

If you’re unfamiliar with Battleship Command, it’s a solo development project by a single developer, and it has been in development for a while for PC.
It places the player in control of a Scharnhorst-class fast battleship tasked to bring down the fist of the Kriegmarine on Allied shipping during World War II. If you’d like to see more, we already saw plenty of gameplay and the Quick Scenario Editor.
Recently, a publishing deal has been struck with MicroProse, which has taken the game under its wide umbrella of simulation goodness, which includes games like Sea Power: Naval Combat in the Missile Age, Task Force Admiral – Vol.1: American Carrier Battles, and many more.
