Today, Electronic Arts revealed plenty of new gameplay and details about the upcoming first-person shooter Battlefield 6.
During a livestreamed reveal event, we learned that the game will release on October 10 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
On top of that, Electronic Arts also announced that the open beta will have an early access (that can be unlocked by watching streamers during today’s showcase) between August 7 and August 8, followed by the first weekend between August 9 and August 10, and a second weekend between August 14 and August 17.
We start the series of today’s reveals with the multiplayer gameplay trailer.
We then get to take a look at the classes, which let you cover the Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon roles.
On top of the classes, the trailer below also lets you take a look at Battlefield 6’s signature destruction.
Next is a look at the maps, of which there will be nine at launch. Specifically they are Liberation Peak, Empire State, New Sobek City, Manhattan Bridge, Iberian Offensive, Mirak Valley, Siege of Cairo, Saints Quarter, and Operation Firestorm.
We also take a look at the modes, on top of the return of the Portal mode. The “big” ones are Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and the new Escalation, but there will also be Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination, and King of the Hill.
There were a couple more teases during the reveal, including the return of the single-player campaign, following the scenario painted by the reveal trailer a few days ago.
Another big return is the Battle Royale mode.
If you want to see plenty of multiplayer gameplay, you can also enjoy the full reveal livestream below.
Just a couple a days ago, Electronic Arts’ executives mentioned that they have invested in Battlefield 6 more than in any past Battlefield game. From what we’ve seen today, that certainly appears to check out.
