Larian Studios just put out a brand new community update regarding the next major patch for its award-winning 2023 RPG Baldur’s Gate 3.
Alongside plenty of hilarious memes and community posts, the update primarily focused on what fans can expect from Baldur’s Gate 3 patch 8 and how they can participate in the official stress test. This will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, letting players try out he cross-platform play by creating their or joining their own lobbies.
PC players interested in signing up can simply click here, while Xbox players need to download the Xbox Insider Hub app. Mac players seem to be the odd man out at the moment, as the won’t be able to use cross-play during that time.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Mac players also have new minimum specs as of the upcoming update, with Larian suggesting they update their system to version 14.7.1 or later. Crossplay isn’t the only thing coming with patch 8, as Photo mode, 12 new subclasses, and a slew of bug fixes will be added to the game:
- Barcus is no longer Mike Wazowski’d by various items like cauldrons and bottles blocking him off from view when you talk to him at Last Light.
- Cerys will stop getting involved in combats with Minthara from across the region. An eager beaver no longer.
- Fixed a bug preventing Wyll from commenting on Astarion holding a blade to your throat during Astarion’s recruitment dialogue by the beach.
- Fixed a savegame issue where you wouldn’t get the appropriate amount of Umbral Gems for the Gauntlet of Shar.
- Fixed an issue causing you to get stuck at a 0% loading screen when attempting to join a multiplayer session that uses mods.
- Fixed companions’ lines getting cut off prematurely after Gale performs a specific action at the end of the game.
- Halsin will now show up to your camp in Act II as long as you save him, even if you happen to skip the celebration with the tieflings at camp.
- Improved performance in the Adamantine Forge.
- Minthara will now comment on a certain character’s reveal.
- We’ve also reminded Minthara that ‘knocked out’ does not mean ‘dead,’ so she’ll more reliably appear in Moonrise Towers.
- Your character will no longer think Shadowheart is dead if she isn’t when talking to a certain antagonist.
Last but not least, Larian announced mod manager improvements, including removing third-party mod warnings and a trigger for the Mod Verification window. This comes right off the backs of celebrating 100 million mods downloaded in Baldur’s Gate 3 to date.
