Today, Assetto Corsa EVO developers Kunos Simulazioni detailed the upcoming roadmap for 2025, which is set to introduce game updates, adding plenty of new features and quality-of-life changes.
After listening to community feedback following the launch earlier this year in January, the developers will be introducing changes that aim to balance tradition with new ideas. AI will be adjusted considerably, reacting more dynamically and realistically, changing behavior alongside skill level in order to help players improve and progress.
Modding tools will be added earlier than anticipated, coming during the Early Access program instead of 1.0, so the community can create and support each other’s ideas to make some interesting creations. Assetto Corsa EVO’s latest update also balances three important gameplay modes: Career Mode, Open Mode, and Multiplayer.
Career Mode now will feature a more balanced structure for its progression, the Driving Academy, and the in-game economy. Outside of Special Events, this and Open Mode will both be available offline, meaning you can race solo anytime without an internet connection. Multiplayer will perform much smoothly, as the netcode is being redesigned for online sessions.
Performance upgrades will be optimized for virtual reality and multi-screen setups while improving overall performance enhancements in general. Last but not least, it was revealed that KUNOS Simulazioni Founder and now CTO Stefano Casillo will be returning to the project to help guide the technical development team.
Assetto Corsa EVO officially launched into Steam early access on January 16, 2025, as the third installment in the series, which originally launched back in 2013. The developers created the simulator with the intention of creating a realistic driving experience for racing fans, with both previous titles receiving praise as some of the best simulation racing titles ever made.
While it is still in the early stages of its release, the game continues to build momentum within the racing simulation community thanks to free updates like the one above. Assetto Corsa EVO is currently available on Steam, starting at a price point of $39.99.
