Shine Research and Nacon revealed earlier today that a free demo will be coming to Steam next month, February 19, 2025, for their upcoming building sim Architect Life: A House Design Simulator.
In the demo, players will have the chance to design homes, tackle ambitious projects, and bring bold architectural visions to life. While the exact length of the demo wasn’t specified, the developers are hoping to use the feedback that is given as a result of it to help fine-tune the experience.
Alongside the news, Archiblog #4 also detailed plenty of information about how roofs will work in the game. Just like the rest of the house, you’ll have complete freedom to design the roofs in Architect Life: A House Design Simulator to your liking.
You can fine-tune the height, orientation, and how it connects to walls and also choose from a variety of materials when putting on the final touches during Finishing work phase of development. Currently, there are five unique roof types in the game, which you can see in the video above.
The game will feature a career mode in which players set up their own architectural firm and take on the responsibility of managing projects from start to finish. You can see a breakdown of each stage below:
- First Fix – Model the walls, rooms, roofs, doors, windows, balconies, etc. according to the customer’s requirements, the terrain, the allocated budget and your creative ideas
- Second Fix – Select the floor, wall and roof coverings to maximise the project’s personal touch, and then install the home’s heating systems to ensure a comfortable temperature even in winter
- Outdoors – Swimming pools, garages, verandas and more, to wow your clients before they even have the time to walk through the front door!
- Layout – Get the most from every room through judicious placement of the key furniture, to enable your buyers to picture themselves in their future home
- Decoration – An option for the most creative players who want to try their hand at decorating their house down to the finest details, from a candle on a chest of drawers to the exact placement and colour of the cushions on the sofa!
- Construction– Select the subcontractors according to your remaining budget, and supervise the site, while being ready to react to chance events – after all, construction work is notorious for never going exactly to plan!
