Today, SCS Software announced that it’s seeking help from the community in the development of the upcoming Road Trip feature for American Truck Simulator.
According to the announcement, the developers are looking for owners of specific models of cars who would be willing to let them record the sounds of the engine.
Of course, the process would be conducted with due care to avoid damage to the car and paint, and SCS is willing to discuss compensation.
The models requested are as follows.

- 1967 Mustang with 390 Thunderbird Special V8
- 2023 F-150 with 5.0 V8
- 2023 F-150 Raptor with 3.5 V6
- 2023 Bronco with 2.7 V6
- 1998-2012 Crown Victoria with 4.6 V8
Dodge
- 1970 Charger with 426 Hemi V8
- 1996-2002 Viper with 8.0 V10
- 2023 Challenger with 6.2 V8
- 2025 Ram 1500 with 3.0 I6
Toyota
- 1984-1987 Corolla GT-S with 1.6 I4
- 1993-2002 Supra with 3.0 I6
- 2024 4Runner
- 2024 Sequoia
- 2024 Tacoma
- 2024 Tundra
Nissan
- 1970 Datsun 240Z with 2.4 I6
- 1998 240SX with 2.4 I4
- Nissan GT-R

Of course, this is interesting also for another reason, as it provides a possible list of vehicles that SCS Software might be intending to implement as drivable in the Road Trip feature, albeit there’s no way to know if it’s all of them or only some.
In case you missed the reveal, the Road Trip mode would let players explore the United States with vehicles that aren’t trucks, offering a different kind of experience and different reasons to drive.
American Truck Simulator is available exclusively for PC, and itās the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. Update 1.54 has recently been released with new features and improvements.
The next state DLC is likely Iowa, and you can check outĀ its truck stops,Ā itsĀ towns,Ā road network,Ā more settlements, and the bridges. At the moment, a release date has not been announced for this DLC.
SCS Software also recently announcedĀ LouisianaĀ (alongsideĀ its truck stopsĀ andĀ welcome centers) andĀ Illinois. These are likely to come further down the line.
Last, but not least, just yesterday we saw the free addition of the Kenworth W900 Legacy Edition.
