Today SCS Software announced the release for American Truck Simulator a brand-new truck, the Fifth Generation Cascadia from Freightliner.

The truck is now available to grab for free for the simulator, and one of the things that make it exciting is that the launch in American Truck Simulator is synchronized with the premiere and launch of the real vehicle, which happened earlier today.

SCS has worked closely with Freightliner and Daimler Truck North America to make it happen.

It’s one of those times in which simulation and real world meet, which is becoming more and more common as real companies understand the value of simulation and gaming and connect more and more tightly with developers.

Incidentally, the truck comes with an advanced aerodynamic package to cut through the air on the highways, on top of the MirrorEye camera system, highly improving visibility.

You can check out the new truck below.

American Truck Simulator is available exclusively for PC. It has recently been updated to version 1.51 with the addition of quite a few features.

The sim also just received the Arkansas DLC alongside another truck, the much-awaited Mack Pinnacle, while the Lousiana has just been announced and should follow Missouri, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

This is the twin game to SCS Software’s Euro Truck Simulator 2, which uses the same engine and follows the same development track but is obviously set in Europe. Incidentally, both simulators will receive a driving academy feature in version 1.52.

A few weeks ago the games were in attendance at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, which was another showcased of the inevitable ties between simulation and real-world transportation and logistics.
