Giant Kings will see the return of Giant Kings, a Ruler type from previous Age of Wonders games and the name of the expansion. There will also be other additions like tomes of magic, landmark regions, and more strategic gameplay options.

As a Giant King, players will choose from four different clans that will let players do the following:

  • Flatten land
  • Create mountains
  • Mold lava
  • Freeze land

There will be ancient weapons that players can use to be a Giant King. They’ll be able to terraform, shaping the world how they want it. Armies can become even more powerful as they’re infused with powers, like those of the Astral Sea.

Players can also focus on becoming the home of magic, searching for magical artifacts from the Crystal Dwellings or learning the secrets of the two new magic tomes: The Tome of Dungeon Depths and The Tome of Geomancy. The Tome of Dungeon Depths centers around creating and protecting an underground civilization. The Tome of Geomancy offers a unique way to infuse soldiers with energy from ley lines.

New things roam the lands, as well. Enemies can become crystal-infused, and massive primordial beasts will show up in Ancient Wonders. On a brighter note, merchants will travel around, offering players an easier way to access services and goods.

That’s not all. There are several new realm traits, which include a new story-driven region and new endgame events. There are also two new Ancient Wonders, new music, and a new interface skin.
