Age of Wonders 4: Archon Prophecy Expansion Release Date Announced

Today, Paradox Interactive announced Age of Wonders 4: Archon Prophecy will be released on August 12, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The newest expansion in this award-winning fantasy strategy title will be available for $24.99, with players who own Expansion Pass 2 receiving it for no extra cost when the expansion launches. Age of Wonders 4: Archon Prophecy will feature a slew of new content, including a new culture, forms, narrative content, and two story realms.

For culture, the expansion will allow players to construct an empire with the help of the Architects. With their knowledge, you’ll be able to create monuments within your cities and dedicate them to the affinity of your choice, which helps empower the economy and unlock powerful bonuses.

The two new forms being introduced in the DLC are Elysian and Ancient. The former are heavenly beings that bring a touch of the divine to your realm, while the latter are withered and bent beings from the depths of history that will cause chaos.

Age of Wonders 4: Archon Prophecy brings plenty of narrative incentives, with the new Prophecy Traits, which will challenge you to define your ruler’s purpose and ambition with the hopes of unlocking powerful rewards. The expansion also adds two Story Realms (Rings of Emnora & Cliffs of Sordünn), four Tomes (Virtue, Prophocies, Reveanant, & Archon), a brand new Hero Class (Battlesaint), and many more cosmetic additions, which you can see detailed here.

Age of Wonders 4: Griffon update is also set to launch for free alongside Archon Prophecy, and will introduce new features such as Extra Faction data, New Form traits – Flaws, and Hero Class Updates.
