Infinity Nikki has announced its global closed beta, letting select fans try out the game on a PC or mobile device.
Infinity Nikki is the fifth game in the Nikki series, which is popular for its stylish gameplay. It focuses on creating outfits and dressing up characters to progress the story. The game takes place in Miraland, the same setting as Shrinking Nikki and Love Nikki-Dress UP Queen.
There are seven nations in Miraland. While players don’t know too much about the story, there are going to be areas that the previous games didn’t explore much of. For example, the gameplay demo preview takes place in Stoneville, a city that hasn’t popped up before. Plus, with the open-world exploration, each area that fans already know is going to look very different.
Infinity Nikki is full of puzzles, exploring, fashion, and minigames. Players can relax with NPCs, play instruments, go fishing, or take on bosses. The game was shown off at Gamescom earlier this year, along with 20 minutes of gameplay at ChinaJoy.
A large part of the game focuses on outfits, with each item of clothing giving Nikki abilities to explore. These are generally platformer-type areas that aren’t available until Nikki has the right outfit and/or combination of abilities.
Infinity Nikki is the first console and PC title in the series, an exciting moment for the developers and fans alike. Between the different platforms, there are over 15 million pre-registrations.
Fans can take this survey to sign up for the Infinity Nikki closed beta. If you plan on signing up for the beta on PC, make sure to have your hardware specs at the ready. There are also several questions about your experience and levels in other Nikki games, so make sure to have that information handy as well.
The closed beta runs from October 8 to October 22 on these devices. There will be a PlayStation 5 beta, but more details on that will be shared later.
