Today Dovetail Games released not one, but two spiffy videos about the upcoming railway simulator Train Sim World 5.
The first video focuses on an iconic sight, the massive Frankfurt Station which will be part of the Frankfurt – Fulda line. The video is a timelapse showing trains leaving the station and arriving.
The Frankfurt – Fulda Line will be available with all three paid editions of the game and it’ll feature five locomotives available including the high-speed ICE-T. Those who purchase the more expensive special editions will also be able to enjoy FlixTrain’s Siemens Vectron.
The second video actually features the developers of the game as they provide insight on how they added a few interesting innovations to the fifth iteration of the series compared to previous Train Sim World games.
Train Sim World 5 will be released on September 17 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
Existing players will be able to take advantage of a lot of additional content from the get-go since compatibility with previous versions is available.
Among the content including in the paid versions (standard, deluxe, and special) of the game, there’s also the West Coast Main Line in the UK and the San Bernardino Line in California.
If you’re wondering why I mention “paid editions,” it’s because Dovetail Games also offers a Free Starter Pack, which won’t include any specific route but can be used with any add-on that you may already have from Train Sim World 4, and previous titles of the series, allowing everyone to upgrade to the new features at no additional cost.
If you’re interested in transport simulation beyond trains and would like to try aircraft, you can read our introductory guide to flight simulation, alongside the second episode focusing on installing add-ons, and another showcasing the basic instruments.
