Valorant has finally revealed its newest Agent, Vyse, and her entire kit with a new cinematic at the VCT Champions in Seoul.
Vyse is a Sentinel, and she’s got some unique abilities for the role. First is Arc Rose, an invisible, deployable rose that stuns enemies when Vyse recasts it. Next up is Shear, a hidden trap that creates a short-lived wall when triggered. It’s an indestructible wall, which is a first, but it won’t last long.
Razorvine is her third ability, and it briefly slows and damages enemies caught in it after Vyse recasts it. Vyse’s ultimate ability is Steel Garden, and after a brief activation period, it jams enemies’ primary guns, forcing them to pull out their secondary (or, for the unlucky eco rounds, their melee).
Players can see a brief video of her gameplay below:
This is the first Sentinel that has any kind of flash — it could shake the game up quite a bit. Right now, most teams have at least one Agent that can flash to get onto a site. Of course, most teams will also run one or two Sentinels. Depending on how far Vyse can throw Arc Rose, she may be a viable option for flashing onto sites.
Riot teased Vyse relentlessly before her reveal. She’s tied directly into the lore of Omen, one of the game’s most mysterious characters. However, the new cinematic doesn’t add much to the lore – instead, it just shows that there’s more to come.
The cinematic does give her a place to shine, though – her whole purpose seems caught up in stopping Duelists take space. In it, Jett is caught out between Arc Rose and Shear, cutting her off from her teammates.
Episode 9 Act 1 closes up on August 28. Players can look forward to trying Vyse out shortly after in Act 2. Players can watch her reveal cinematic below:
