Today, Rebel Wolves showed off the second part of the gameplay showcase for its upcoming dark fantasy RPG set in the 14th century, The Blood of Dawnwalker.
In the 26-minute look at The Blood of Dawnwalker, we get a good look at the protagonist, Coen, as he investigates the fictional town of Vale Sangora. Alongside talking to its residents, we see him take part in numerous dynamic fights against humans and monsters, with details of some of the in-game lore sprinkled throughout as well.
Coen is a man turned into a Dawnwalker: human by day, vampire by night, and as we see in the video, he possesses similar powers to the beasts now that he is also part vampire. In order to rescue his family, he must use these powers to defeat the vampiric feudal lords who have taken over Vale Sangora.
The above new footage showcases game improvements prompted by community feedback, including changes to the flow of fights and camera placement, improved mechanics and features, and more. In the game, you’ll experience two different gameplay loops: day and night.
Each gameplay section offers distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goal, allowing you to experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions. Every action – and inaction – shapes the world around you, so you’ll need to choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind, as you will not have time for everyone.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is being developed by Rebel Wolves, a team of Witcher Veterans, on Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While there is no exact date yet, the title does have a current release window of 2026.
