Based off the feedback from their previous title, Alaskan Road Truckers, the developers were able to completely rework how interacting with your truck’s cockpit affects gameplay in Road Truckers: New Beginning. There are now three levels of interaction for the inside of your cabs: driving, safety, and comfort.

Driving interactions are obviously related to movement, including actions such as turning the engine on and off, engaging the handbrake, and steering wheel movement. This won’t feel drastically different from the first installment, aside from a few small quality-of-life improvements.

Safety interactions help you adjust to specific difficult terrain or weather conditions, allowing you to switch the lights, lean out the window, and switch the differential lock. Weather will play a considerable role in delivering cargo on time, so this is definitely going to be an important set of cockpit interactions you’ll want to get to know.

Comfort interactions simply let you drive based on your specific preferences. You can ride with the radio on or off, sun visor up or down, or use one of the many different camera angles that are offered. In total, there are 15 interactions with cabin elements, all of which can be navigated using the d-pad menu dedicated to the interior of the cabin.

If you’re unfamiliar with Road Truckers: New Beginning, this brand new journey takes players to the small yet vibrant country of Vale Rico, South America, tasking them with starting their own trucking company from scratch. The main story tasks you with revitalizing an old and neglected town by rebuilding it from the ground up, utilizing your own vehicle and completing cargo jobs that help restore the land’s prosperity.

You’ll complete delivery quests to build your town by navigating using either your GPS or your wits, as the game features plenty of uncharted shortcuts, and you’ll have plenty of happy townsfolk. It is scheduled for release in Q2 2026, arriving on PC and PS5 first, with an Xbox Series X|S release planned as well. For more information, or to wishlist it early, head on over to the official Steam or PS5 pages.
