Katowice Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Screenshots and Development Update

Drzewiecki Design revealed more work-in-progress screenshots of the upcoming Katowice Airport (EPKT) in Poland.

The post also included the traditional brief development update from the developer.

“Another week of progress at Katowice, with both major structures and fine details coming together to shape the airport into a highly realistic scenery.

The main terminal continues to be modeled intensively, with interior work now including custom information boards. A separate Terminal A is also under construction, adding another important part of the passenger infrastructure.

On the landside, the new hotel is now complete, joined by an additional technical building, while numerous refinements have been applied across the airfield. The distinctive cargo high-loader for widebody aircraft is still in progress, preparing the apron for 777, 767, and 747 operations.

Lighting has taken a big step forward with the addition of red obstruction lights, while ground service vehicles and equipment are being placed throughout the airport, adding life and activity. Dozens of office containers have been finished and distributed, capturing the industrial and logistical feel of the airport’s service areas.

LOD optimization and a large number of small corrections have also been implemented, ensuring that the scenery maintains smooth performance without losing visual fidelity.”
