Concorde for Microsoft Flight Simulator Will Get CIVA INS Soon

Microsoft Flight Simulator Concorde

Fans of the Concorde by DC Designs have been waiting for the implementation of the CIVA INS. It’s currently in testing before it gets released in an update.

“As per the real Concorde, the INS only holds nine way-points, but these can come from the normal MSFS World Map flight planner. In the picture below, the INS is tracking a simple EGLL-KJFK flight plan, direct route. Users can either create new flight plans for themselves, or manually input LAT/LON coordinates into the INS for higher realism navigation in Concorde.

The standard FMC remains for those who prefer it. The checklists have been updated with tasks to handle the INS if it’s being used, and the main manual also updated to include how to operate it. I have also included the real-world CIVA INS manual in PDF format, as with the exception of initial alignment, which isn’t featured, this INS works exactly the same as the real one.”

Incidentally, we hear that the code base comes from Big Radials, that included the INS in its Lockheed JetStar earlier this year.
