Developer Orbx is collaborating officially with Universal Products & Experiences to launch Jurassic World: Archipelago, a fully licensed add-on inspired by the films created by Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

It’ll come between the end of August and the beginning of September 2025 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for PC via Orbx Direct, but an Xbox version on the Official MSFS 2024 marketplace will follow afterward.

Versions for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane will be released at a later date.

The add-on adds the iconic islands from the films in accurate detail to the simulator off the west coast of Costa Rica, including Isla Nublar, Isla Sorna, and the surrounding Muertes Archipelago.

You’ll be able to land at challenging airstrips and explore the lush terrain, resorts, and structures from the movies, and of course, meet several species of dinosaurs.

Among others, you’ll find Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dimorphodon, Gallimimus, Mosasaurus, Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, and Velociraptor.

Here’s a list of official features from the press release shared with Simulation Daily.

  • Highly detailed islands: Isla Nublar, Isla Sorna, and more
  • Custom airfields and helipads
  • Animated land, water, dinosaurs, and flying reptiles
  • Themed aircraft liveries and unique flight activities integrated into gameplay

Below you can find a few screenshots and a teaser. If you didn’t already know the news, you’d recognize what this is about in a second. An official site is also already up.

The press release also included a comment from Orbx CEO Anna Cicognani.

“As lifelong fans of the franchise, bringing Jurassic World’s awe-inspiring environments to the flight simulator has been a thrill for the Orbx team. Every moment you spend exploring feels like stepping right into the adventure: it’s daring, it’s immersive, it’s your own blockbuster.

We’re grateful to Universal Products & Experiences for collaborating with us to bring these iconic landscapes with a fresh sense of wonder and discovery to the game.”

More details will be shared in the lead-up to the release.
