We get a new video showcasing the playable ship, the Scharnhorst, as it attacks and sinks a tanker. This is a good chance to take another look at the spotting and firing mechanics.

We also get to see how the damage model on enemy ships works, with dynamic flooding besides direct damage contributing to the sinking.

You can take a look below.

You’ll likely notice that the model of the Scharnhorst has improved considerably since the last time we featured this sim. That’s why the developer is implementing a new model, as introduced in the video below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Battleship Command, it’s a naval simulator developed in Unity by solo developer “Bracer,” aiming to let you control a Scharnhorst-class warship during World War II‘s convoy raid warfare.

We already know that a campaign will be included, and the playable map is described as letting you travel approximately between Greenland and the Barents Sea, down to the Canary Islands, and all the Mediterranean.”

You will also be able to control a fleet, with AI ships escorting our playable one, and the ability to give them orders. You can also see this in today’s video.

The game will be released for PC on Steam (with no date or window just yet), but the dedicated page isn’t yet available. At the moment, the easiest way to keep up with development is via the developer’s Discord server.
