Today, GSC Game World announced that its hit survival FPS Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl would be coming to PS5. The announcement came via a comically meta trailer, with players from in-game actually playing the new port on a television.
Outside of the announcement that it would be coming to the Sony console, no release date or window was provided for the upcoming Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl port. Since its initial release on Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 20, 2024, it has achieved resounding success, surpassing the 1 million copies sold mark just two days into release.
Since then, the developers have been hard at work adding new content, implementing thousands of patch improvements and new features based on player feedback. Earlier this year, they even detailed a content roadmap for the rest of 2025, which will include mutant loot, new weapons, and much more.
In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players are tasked with exploring the post-apocalyptic exclusion zone of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The area is overrun with radiation, dangerous anomalies, and terrifying mutants, all of which can kill you in a heartbeat.
In order to survive the zone, you’ll need to keep an eye on your hunger and sleep and collect and store various items in your inventory, including medicines, food, weapons, ammo, and armor. Game mechanics like weight limit and wear and tear also need to be taken into account, as the entire game places a large emphasis on survival and realism.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC, starting at $59.99. For more information on the PS5 release and pricing, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily.
