During an episode of the Frontier Unlocked livestream, we get to see the new menus to create a new squadron, including base information, preferences, and allegiance.

One very interesting addition is the ability to create a logo by combining three visual layers. That logo can then be applied to your ships.

The developers also showcased how you can search for an existing squadron to join by browsing through a series of filters.

We then see the Squadron menu proper, where players can find all the options available to their rank and a list of players, alongside a bulletin board. Incidentally, while squadrons come with 5 ranks by default, you can create 10 more up to a total of 15, each with customized powers.

Next, we take a look at perks, which can provide a variety of bonuses, from simple XP increases to more complex ones. Incidentally, you should keep in mind that everything showcased today is a work-in-progress, and figures and numbers can change.

The Squadron bank was also showcased, with the ability to set rank-specific limits of withdrawal in a given time.

Lastly, we take a look at the Squadron Carrier, which is bigger than a normal Fleet Carrier. Everyone with permissions can move it, and it has more storage space for commodities, personal items, and even ships that squadron members can take out and enjoy.

This is all scheduled to be released in Elite Dangerous this summer.

Elite Dangerous is currently available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, but the console versions are limited and aren’t getting recent expansions and updates, like the recent Trailblazers update.

The game was originally funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign all the way back in 2012 and has been in operation since 2014. In fact, it has recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary.

Recently, we saw the reveal of new ships like the Gutamaya Corsair and the Panther Clipper MK II.
