This means that it’ll come with a “flat screen” mode for both the PS5 and the PC versions, opening up the game to a much wider audience.

This is a pretty large change from the original reveal and the following showings, which definitely had virtual reality front and center.

The press release included an explanation of the decision by creative director Kirill Yudintsev.

“Flat screen mode will allow us to bring more players to the game and let VR-equipped users prove the advantages of having a headset in really immersive flight simulation dogfights.

While the game is already at the polishing stage, the developers are fully committed to release it only when it’s actually done.”

We also hear that the game is already in the polishing phase, but it’ll be released only when it’s ready.

Of course, the game will still support PlayStation VR 2 on PS5 and PC headsets for the Steam version.

If you want to learn more about Aces of Thunder, you can check out the recent gameplay trailer and the reveal that it’ll include World War I fighter planes on top of World War II warbirds.

If you’re unfamiliar with Gaijin Entertainment, it’s certainly not new to flight games, being the creator of the popular War Thunder. You may also know them for Enlisted and more.

Aces of Thunder includes “a couple of dozen” aircraft, including WWII warbirds like the American P-51 Mustang and P-63 Kingcobra, the German Bf 109 and Fw 190, the Soviet Il-2, La-5FN, and Yak-9T, the British Spitfire, and the Japanese A6M3 Zero.

As for World War I planes, you’ll be able to fly the SPAD S.XIII, the Sopwith F.1 Camel, the Fokker D.VII, and the Fokker Dr.I made famous by the Red Baron, Manfred von Richthofen.
