Today, Electronic Arts, Bit Reactor, and Respawn Entertainment announced Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game based in the Star Wars universe.
Basically, if you think the Xcom series in a Star Wars setting, you’ll be pretty close to the definition of this game, which was teased a few days ago.
The story is set during the Clone Wars, and we’ll play as a former Republic officer named Hawks, who commands a squad of elite operatives.
Interestingly, we can fully customize Hawks’ looks and combat class, while we can use pre-defined operatives or customize our own to form our squad.
The game will be heavily story-driven, and choices made by the player will have an impact on the story and on the interactions among characters. Permadeath and a single game save will be available as options depending on the level of difficulty.
The game will release in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Below, you can check out a trailer that offers a glimpse of gameplay, besides a look at some of the characters.
During the panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, we also saw some concept art of the customization available with Hawk and Astromech Droids, the galaxy map, some of the planetary environments, our ship (which also serves as the base of operations), and its droid pilot.

The press release accompanying the announcement included a comment by Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor:
“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay.
It’s our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation.”
We also hear from Douglas Reilly, General Manager of Lucasfilm Games.
“At Lucasfilm Games, we’re huge tactics fans and we have wanted to make a game like this for a long time- The best tactics games are all about meaningful choices, and we’re confident we have chosen the right squad in Bit Reactor to deliver a compelling and innovative title that is authentic to Star Wars.”
