The release date of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is not the only news related to Hideko Kojima’s upcoming game today, as Kotobukiya announced a cool model kit.
The developer announced a plastic model kit of the game’s ship DHV Magellan. It’ll be released in Japan in August 2025 and pre-orders are up.
The price will be 7,700 yen including taxes, which translates into $52.18 at the current exchange rate.
The scale is 1/350 and the model is 220mm-long. Incidentally, this tells us that the DHV Magellan is 77 meters long. The number of parts is between 51 and 200 and the sculptor is Shigeo Mouri.
The model comes with a few options including the ability to switch between a crane and a railgun, while the Close-In Weapon System can be switched between a gatling gun and a missile launcher.
It also comes with a special stand and the containers are articulated, letting you recreate different positions.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach comes on June 26, 2025, for PS5. If you want to see more, you can also check out an older broadcast from Tokyo Game Show 2024.
If you’re interested in playing Death Stranding before the sequel releases, it’s available on PC, on PS5, and it has recently been released on Xbox Series X|S. At the moment, other platforms have not been announced for the sequel, but I’d be surprised if ports did not come at some point down the line.
