The update, which has been in beta for quite a while, is really large in terms of fixes across the whole spectrum of the simulator, but it doesn’t yet include the launch of the official marketplace.

Microsoft mentions that the marketplace “is coming shortly, as we are making final tweaks to ensure it meets everyone’s expectations.”

The update does include the free Cessna 185F Skywagon which was initially supposed to be sold as Famous Flyer #11 but Microsoft is offering it alongside the upcoming CAP-4 Paulistinha to all users at no additional cost in order to make up for the initial launch problems.

You can see it in action below

A lot of the fixes are about stability and performance, on top of backward compatibility with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 aircraft.

Speaking of the aircraft, we have a very long list of fixes specific to each of them and many more specific to avionics and navigation systems, improving the whole lineup considerably.

More changes involve the EFB, the world, the career mode, and much more.

You can find a full list of patch notes on the official site. Pick a cup of coffee and sit comfortably, because it’s very long.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is also available for PC and Xbox Series X|S following its recent release in November. if you want to see the massive visual difference against Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you can enjoy our video and screenshot comparison.

Incidentally, a few days ago, we published an extensive interview with Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann about the present situation of the sim and the plans for the future.

A few weeks ago, Microsoft shared an extensive update about its plans for the sim, so you may want to read it to integrate what is said in this interview.

You can also check out our in-depth analysis of how much data the simulator downloads from the cloud, clearing the air from some widespread misinformation that made the rounds over the past few months.
