Today, Train Sim World 5 released 12 miles of London’s Mildmay line, the city’s second overground line added to the sim.
The Mildmay line has fully-licensed TfL branding. The add-on for Train Sim World 5 also includes a busy schedule, black cabs, red buses, automated DLR trains, and more true-to-London sights and features.
The 12 miles of the Mildmay line in Train Sim World 5 routes between Stratford and Willesden Junction. Other big names like Hampstead Health, Highbury and Islington, and Hackney Central are also part of the 18-station system.
New vehicles are also part of the London Overground Mildmay line add-on. The Class 378 Capitalstar is also part of the add-on, which is a train that’s been running the London Overground routes since 2009. Additionally, four more trains are part of the add-on:
- Southeastern Class 375 in Southeastern High Speed
- Southern Class 377/2 in West Coast Main Line South
- Southern Class 377/4 in East Coastway / London Commuter
- Gatwick Express Class 387 in London Commuter
The Mildmay line avoids central London, which makes it a pretty important part of cross-city traveling. This makes it pretty busy, especially considering it links multiple different main lines together.
The line itself used to be known as the North London Line. However, it was renamed after a small hospital in Shoreditch that played an important role in the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s.
The add-on itself is available through the partner program with developer Incredible Trains, which is the name solo developer Johannes Hartmann uses. An in-depth look was released last month, showing off the route and some of the new trains.
The Train Sim World 5: London Overground Mildmay line route add-on is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S today. The release times vary a bit:
- Console: 10:00 GMT
- Epic Games: 16:00 GMT
- Steam: 18:00 GMT
Train Sim World 5 just got an update last week that fixed the London Underground Suffragette line, among other things.
