The developers of the upcoming Loose Leaf: A Tea Witch Simulator released a dev update, discussing how they made brewing tea feel as realistic, tangible, and satisfying as possible.
The simulator will focus on experimenting and brewing teas using various ingredients to find the perfect brew for each guest. Loose Leaf devs want players to feel magical in this process, really focusing on the process of preparing and brewing ingredients. It’s not about casting spells — it’s about following a ritual to make the perfect brew.
Developers decided to share two parts of the process that exhibit this well.
First is the grinding process. Players can use a grinder to turn any ingredient into a powder, complete with a very satisfying mortar and pestle sound.

Another small but satisfying detail is picking ingredients. Developers pointed out that some ingredients have to be grown and harvested. The example they used is an adorable tiny lemon tree that’s sitting on the brew bar.
Picking the lemon looks incredibly satisfying, given the little tug that happens when players try to take a lemon. From the gif below, it looks like it’ll scratch a few ASMR itches when players pick one.

Of course, Loose Leaf: A Tea Witch Simulator is still being developed. These features could change from the gifs above, but the developers are focused on making sure the game feels as good as it looks.
Other gameplay that wasn’t shown off includes a milk frother, a bell to ring when tea is ready, and even reading tarot cards. There’s no release date yet, but it will be coming to PC.
