Anyone who is successfully admitted to the Battlefield Labs program will be able to give feedback on an early version of the next Battlefield title. This program comes in the wake of the most recent release in the franchise, Battlefield 2042, which launched back in 2021. Alongside a rough launch from a technical standpoint, as the game was riddled with bugs, the FPS was criticized for a lack of compelling new features and numerous gameplay changes that led to nearly 30k negative reviews on Steam.
Alongside the program, it was also revealed that Criterion, DICE, Ripple Effect, and Motive would be coming together to form Battlefield Studios. DICE will work on multiplayer, Motive will make a single-player campaign and multiplayer maps, Ripple Effect will make an unannounced new battlefield experience, and Criterion will support single-player.
