Today developer FromSoftware announced that the mecha game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has passed a very flattering sales milestone.

According to the announcement made on social media, the game has sold over 3 million copies worldwide, which is certainly nice for a series that is certainly more niche compared to FromSoftware’s ultra-popular Souls games and their successor, Elden Ring.

Yet, mecha are certainly cool, and Armored Core VI proves without a doubt that games featuring them can sell very well under the right circumstances.

Below you can check out the celebratory image released by the developer.

Released in June last year for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon marked the return of a beloved series that had been dormant for a while, as FromSoftware dedicated itself almost entirely to Souls games.

To be precise, the franchise had been dormant for nearly ten years after the release of Armored Core V: Verdict Day in September 2013. It originally debuted all the way back in 1997 on the first PlayStation.

Yet, its fans never forgot about it and kept asking loudly and proudly for a new game.

Hopefully, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco, which publishes the game in the West, now know that resources spent in their mecha franchise are indeed well spent.

For the moment, the developer has not announced its plans for more Armored Core games, but we’ll certainly let you know if we hear anything new.

If you’re interested in mecha simulators (or Mech, as they’re known in the BattleTech franchise), you’ll likely be interested in this super-cool VR full-motion rig created to play MechWarrior V: Mercenaries.
