Today Star Citizen developer Cloud Imperium Games released a new video focusing on the soundtrack of the single-player campaign Squadron 42.
The video showcases the recording of some of the tracks and a song at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.
We get to hear a digital mockup of the music, then how it sounded while being recorded at the studio, followed by the final mix. Man, these bagpipes never get old.
Interestingly, the video also shows a look at the initial credit cutscene, which appears to come after the gameplay prologue that we saw at Citizencon. It’s worth mentioning that if you can read between the lines, it could be considered a bit of a spoiler, albeit we don’t really know the whole context of the scene so I might be wrong here.

If you’re unfamiliar with Squadron 42, it’s the single-player campaign of Star Citizen starring an exceptional cast of famous actors including Mark Hamill, Henry Cavill, Gary Oldman, Liam Cunningham, Gillian Anderson, and more. Recently, we learned that it’ll release in 2026.

Star Citizen is a crowdfunded project directed by Chris Roberts, known for the beloved Wing Commander series. It’s a multiplayer sandbox space simulator that has been in development for over a decade and in alpha for several years. It will be released exclusively for PC at some point in the future.
The crowdfunding total has passed $779 million and it’s currently at $779,197,986. The game also has 5,514,055 registered users, albeit not all of them are paid customers. Many simply create an account to enjoy the occasional free-to-play periods.
Incidentally, 2024 was the second-best year ever for Star Citizen’s crowdfunding campaign, missing the record only by roughly one million.
A few months ago, Cloud Imperium Games showcased plenty of features and tech coming to the game, on top of the overall vision for version 1.0, which will be the full release of the game, albeit it doesn’t yet have a date.
