Limitless VR and Simrigs, a YouTube channel dedicated to VR games and simulation rigs, has used a full motion rig to fully immerse himself in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries VR.
Spotted by ReadWrite, the VR setup takes VR gaming to the next level. Limitless VR and Simrigs made the setup feel heavy, using belts to add tension while the machine moved up and down. He also mapped out his torso, allowing him to rotate and move with more than just his head.
Limitless VR and Simrigs also showed viewers how he set everything up. His VR rig itself uses a variety of different hardware components, but the software is listed under his video. His actual VR rig has a video entirely dedicated to it and the parts he uses.
He goes through the process of mapping everything out, how to get everything running correctly, and what mods allow him to play in VR. While it’s a long process, the intense gameplay makes it worth it.
The end result is a VR rig that immerses Limitless VR and Simrigs more than most people can imagine. His mecha punches move forward and back as if he were actually in a machine – which, in a way, he is. The experience in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries VR is unparalleled in his setup.
