If you’re familiar with the world of esports and VTubers (at the same time), you may know VSPO! or Virtual Esports Project, one of the most popular Vtuber agencies in Japan.
Today the agency announced that it’s celebrating 10 million subscribers achieved cumulatively across the channels of its VTubers/competitors.
This new number represents sizable growth, considering that as of December 2022, the total was 5 million subscribers. The agency was originally founded in 2018.
A celebratory video was also released, which you can watch below.
According to the press release, the celebrations include commemorative merchandise to be sold at special “fan appreciation” prices, on top of commemorative trucks portraying the project’s VTubers touring Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka starting on December 28.
Celebratory illustrations of the members have also been revealed. They will appear in printed cards that will be sold for 100 yen each.
If you’re unfamiliar with VSPO!, it’s one of the most popular Vtuber agencies in Japan, aiming to “inspire fans by embracing new challenges through the universal languages of video games and esports.”
Its VTubers engage in esports tournbaments, game livestreaming, collaboration with anime, and appear in other media like music videos.
They stream a variety of competitive games for both PC and consoles like PUBG, Apex Legends, Rainbow Six Siege, Street Fighter 6, Valorant, League of Legends, and more. If you’re wondering about their accolades, you can also check out the trophies they have won.
While most of them perform in Japanese, a few perform in English including Arya Kuroha, Remia Aotsuki, Jira Jisaki, Marin Mikure, and Riko Solari (portrayed at the top of this post). The English language side of the agency VSPO! EN launched very recently in June 2024.
