The game promises “tactile mech action at overwhelming speed” and indeed the trailer shows exactly that, with the player able to boost out of the way of upcoming attacks while responding with the iconic “missile clouds” that you may have seen in many sci-fi anime.
You can customize your mecha, named “Icarus” with different parts and paints. While parts change your stats slightly, the “Tune” function is what does the heavy lifting of the functional customization.
Basically, you can use a pre-defined amount of points to modify stats like durability, mobility, or weapon performance. This means that you can decouple function from looks and achieve both the performance and the appearance that you prefer.
Omega Phenex will include over 30 missions plus an Arena Mode for 1 vs 1 battles. You can expect a variety of missions like extermination, exploration, boss battles, and escort missions. Interestingly, the developer is aware that many find escort missions a bit annoying, so they’re looking for “less stressful” solutions for them.
