Yesterday, Palworld announced an exciting new crossover would be coming in 2025 while also teasing news about a brand new update coming very soon. It looks like they weren’t exaggerating, as developers Pocketpair revealed that fans should keep their eyes peeled for a lot of new content next month.
While the Steam post was slightly vague with specifics, it did include some screenshots and important information. The most important news is obviously that the update will be coming for free to users who own the base game at some point in December.
The centerpiece of Palworld’s next adventure is a mysterious island that will be the largest and most difficult one in the game to date. According to the developers, it will be six times the size of Sakurajima, which was added in the last major update.
Alongside a large location, new Pal species and a handful of powerful tower bosses will also be added in, all specific to the new island. The post ended by stating a large amount of new content would also be added while also reminding fans of next year’s collaboration with Terraria, saying more news would be coming regarding this team-up in the near future.
Since its release into early access on January 18, 2024, Palworld has had one interesting roller-coaster ride of a story. Upon release, it reached a peak of 1.1 million players, becoming only the second paid game in history (PUBG) to reach that mark.
In September, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company filed a patent infringement lawsuit and moved to sue Pocketpair. The lawsuit is still ongoing, and the companies are seeking 5 million yen plus late payment fees for each plaintiff, coming out to about $65,000 cumulatively.
