Today Koei Tecmo hosted a livestream dedicated in part to the upcoming dating simulator Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme.
The livestream shows a couple of scenes with Nanami, providing a look at how you can pick different choices in conversation, and then goes straight into revealing the photo mode, which will be an important element of the game.
During an episode, you can take pictures at any time and from any angle. The feature lets you control the zoom and the F-Stop (aperture), alongside other elements. You can also rotate the camera for vertical pictures.
You can use telephoto lenses for close-ups, and if you meet certain conditions, you’ll be able to freeze time and freely move the model’s gaze and freeze it in place.
Like a real digital camera, you have an exposure adjustment feature, and you can further tweak the light by adding up to three light sources.
You can see the gameplay below.
The story of the game will be told in chapters and your favor rating with a lady changes depending on dialogue choices. The story will unfold differently depending on your choices.
You can also unlock new outfits by uploading your picture on (fictional) social media and increasing the number of fans for each heroine. Then you can replay episodes with different outfits, leading to taking new pictures and creating a replayability cycle.
enus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme launches in Japan and Asia on March 6, 2025, for PC, PS5, and PS4. While it won’t be officially released in the West, an English localization will be included.
Besides Nanami, the game will star Misaki, Elise, Fiona, Tamaki, and Honoka, who will be the only heroine who debuted in the original Dead or Alive fighting series, while everyone else debuted in Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, albeit Tamaki ended up appearing as a DLC fighter in Dead or Alive 6.
At the moment, we don’t know if Koei Tecmo intends to ever bring back the fighting game series. We’ll have to wait and see.
