The game is a collaboration between Wright Flyer Studios and Visual Arts/Key, which created some of the most beloved visual novels in the history of the genre, including Clannad, Kanon, Air, Little Busters, and many more.
The story of Heaven Burns Red and the music are written by Jun Maeda, who penned most of Key’s most successful titles.
Yostar is a veteran of mobile game publishing, with games like Azur Lane, Blue Archive, and more under its umbrella.
Heaven Burns Red received high marks in Japan due to its story and characters, which isn’t surprising due to its pedigree. What certainly was surprising is seeing it picked up for the Western market, especially considering that the Japanese release happened in 2022. Many of fans of Jun Maeda’s work had lost hope to ever be able to play the game in English.
Yet, it’s happening, and it’s certainly a joyous occasion. Below you can check out a trailer.
If you’re interested in more Japanese games that are finally getting an English localization, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien: Enhanced Edition is finally releasing for the general public on Steam tomorrow, October 18.
